Born and raised in Sacramento, Julia Kamilos is a communications and marketing professional with a strong foundation in the arts. She specializes in digital and social media strategy, earned media, event management, and brand marketing. At Lighthouse Public Affairs, Julia has supported numerous high-profile projects, helping to secure media coverage at the local, state, and national levels, coordinating events, managing client social media accounts, and developing public relations and social media strategies tailored to each client’s unique goals. She also contributes to the firm’s Daily Briefing.
Julia first joined Lighthouse as a Post-Graduate Summer Associate before stepping into her current role as Project Manager. She earned her M.A. in Communication Management with a focus in Marketing from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and holds a BFA in Ballet from Texas Christian University. Before transitioning into communications, Julia danced professionally with State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara for five seasons, touring nationally and internationally while contributing to the company’s marketing initiatives. This experience continues to inspire her creativity and discipline in her communications work.
During her graduate studies, Julia further honed her communications skills as the Sales Manager and Brand Marketing Assistant at Anna Janelle Jewelry in Santa Barbara, where she also led the brand’s social media presence. Today, she serves on the Marketing Committee for MOSAC (the Museum of Science and Curiosity) in Sacramento. She is excited to be part of the Lighthouse team and to contribute her skills towards meaningful community engagement.
