Marian has more than 20 years of professional experience in government and has worked at Lighthouse for 6 years. Having held executive positions in government agencies, Marian has a thorough understanding of how government works. With her insight, professional relationships in both the public and private sectors, and ability to build stakeholder support, Marian is able to fill critical public-affairs functions to achieve successful outcomes. Marian’s work at Lighthouse has focused on strategy and policy development, internal and external messaging, coaching and team building, project management, entitlement processing, and government affairs.

Marian has held key government positions at the City of South San Francisco, Caltrain, SamTrans, San Mateo County Transportation Authority, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, and BART. In South San Franciso, as the Assistant City Manager, Marian led numerous large, complex public/private projects from planning through design to construction. At Caltrain, as the Caltrain Modernization Executive Officer, she secured the funding plan and local, regional, state, and federal support to advance the $2.4B Caltrain electrification project from planning to construction.

Marian has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Urban Planning from New York University. Her favorite pass times are enjoying life with her daughter and minipoodle, and ballroom dancing.
