With a strong foundation in public policy, legislative operations, and constituent services, Raymond has committed his working life to advocating for meaningful change and providing impactful support California residents and the San Diego community.

Raymond began his career in Sacramento as a Legislative Intern for his local assemblymember, Shirley N. Weber. After completing his internship, he was promoted to Legislative Assistant and served under Weber until 2020, when she left office to become California Secretary of State in 2020. Raymond continued his work as Legislative Assistant for Weber’s successor, Assemblymember Akilah Weber. In both roles, Raymond worked on key policy issues affecting the San Diego region, including public safety, higher education, and California-Mexico bi-national affairs.

Most recently, Raymond served as Legislative Director for assemblymember and former Democratic Caucus chair Mike A. Gipson, where he successfully led the development and passage of more than 18 pieces of significant legislation. Raymond was responsible for planning, directing, and executing the legislative agenda, providing strategic advice, and offering policy recommendations.

Raymond is a native of San Diego, where his family still resides. Raymond lives in Sacramento and spends his free time bike riding, golfing, and exercising.
