On Earth Day, Lighthouse Public Affairs proudly supported a high-impact event at Soil Born Farms in Rancho Cordova, featuring California Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom. The celebration highlighted California’s Farm-to-School program—an initiative that connects small-scale farmers with local school districts to provide students with fresh, nutritious produce while promoting environmental stewardship.

The event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including school superintendents, program grantees, legislators, and representatives from California Native communities. Participants joined the Newsom family in a hands-on creek clean-up effort, reinforcing the program’s community-oriented values. Speaking to the heart of the initiative, the First Partner noted, “Through Farm-to-School, we’re developing young climate stewards.”

Lighthouse Public Affairs led a strategic media campaign that secured extensive coverage across local, state, and national outlets, including CapRadio, The Sacramento Bee, Los Angeles Times, CalMatters, and Politico. The team developed tailored press materials, assembled a comprehensive media toolkit, and coordinated onsite press tours to ensure strong media engagement.

Through close collaboration with the Office of the First Partner and by providing end-to-end logistical support, Lighthouse Public Affairs helped deliver a successful and widely resonant event that elevated the Farm-to-School program and its vision for a healthier, more sustainable California.
