Lighthouse Public Affairs helped establish Heirloom as a leading climate tech start-up in California, positioning the company as a model for carbon dioxide removal (CDR) innovation in both the Legislature and the Administration. Our team built strong legislative champions, influenced policy around Cap-and-Trade, and ensured CDR was integrated into the broader climate conversation. We developed strategic partnerships across the business, labor, and environmental sectors to elevate Heirloom’s credibility and align its mission with California’s ambitious climate goals. Through targeted advocacy and coalition building, we made Heirloom a trusted voice and key stakeholder in shaping the state’s climate policy framework.
We also led the planning and execution of the ribbon cutting for Heirloom’s Direct Air Capture facility in Tracy, California—the first of its kind in the United States to both capture and store atmospheric CO₂. This milestone event drew top-level elected officials from the federal, state, and local levels and garnered national media attention, spotlighting Heirloom as a trailblazer in carbon removal technology. The success of this event solidified Heirloom’s public profile and showcased California’s leadership in climate innovation, further advancing support for scalable carbon removal solutions.
